Eat Pray Love

I have just returned from the movie.  I wanted to go to a new theater in my area and voluntarily chose to go to EAT PRAY LOVE.  I like a chick-flick as much as the next woman, but they seem to be `all the same’ lately.  However, I knew the book/movie would come up in conversation and I like to be able to have an opinion on popular movies.  So I went knowing the soft music would lull me to sleep, and not eating the popcorn would give me nothing to do with my hands, but I would stay to the end because that’s what I do.

First of all let me say that I wished I’d had a pen and paper with me.  The pre movie commercials were terrific!  Many aimed at a teenage population, who ought to have started school today.  Where was I when they changed all that?  Anyway, the movie.  Perhaps this movie wouldn’t have been a hit with me if it had come on 5 years ago.  I believe that timing is everything, and this show is for 2010.  A time when people want to evolve, but don’t know into what.

The music was great and let me tell you all about the movie…just kidding, but I really think the husband was the funnest, and sometime it would be great if the main character really risked it all and just went for the fun.

I give EAT PRAY LOVE the high vibrational movie of the year award!

  1. Hiya
I went to the movie — and honestly thought it was poor.

Julia Roberts was enough of a draw… i think I saw most of the movie in all the trailors they kept playing to promote it.

As normal– the book was better. She did a nice job… but it was VERY predictable. The scenery was lovely.

I liked the Indian toothless guy the best. That Second boy friend was borrrring!

    :) hugs GF

Perhaps I was pleased, didn’t say love, the movie because I had decided it would be horrid before I even gave it a chance. Part of what I liked was that no one gave the appearance of being extremely rich or gorgeous or thin:) That’s all new! I really did enjoy the music, and have to say that I had a good time.

In saying all this, Claudia is really the movie critique. She attends regularly as she was raised in the theater…(many have heard me say before), I was raised by wolves:)
